Whether it's in- dustrial projects in the Inland Empire or ofce spaces that emphasize health and wellness for employees, it seems that everyone is looking to make a mountain out of a molehill. Healthcare real estate is changing its shape, due to the Afordable Care Act and the aging Baby Boomers, and so are downtowns, now that Millennials are getting older and will soon enter their child-bearing years. Commercial real estate profession- als are also developing a new attitude toward their careers. Many are adopt- ing new technologies that can save them invaluable amounts of time. Others are looking to relocate to some of the great cities out West, San Diego being the top location. Even Las Vegas, long touted as one of the last cities to recover from the Great Recession, has resumed its de- velopment boom. NAIOP's recent bus tour included 29 industrial, ofce and retail projects underway in various parts of the city. Arizona and Colorado are also prime places for retail development, according to our contributors, due to their lower costs of living and strong employment basins. Wherever your sweet spot lies, we'll bet the West has some opportunities waiting for you. All you need to do is go out there and grab them!
